Summer School

Incoming 9th Grade Summer Institute

This program is designed for current 8th-grade students to prepare for the transition to MHS.

  • Program Dates: July 6 – August 13, 2026 (Monday – Thursday)

  • Time: 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

  • Cost: Tuition is free for all incoming 9th graders.

  • Credit Opportunity: Students can earn 0.5 elective credits per subject successfully completed, for a total of up to 1.0 full elective credit before starting high school.

  • Course Selection: Students choose two subjects from English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

  • Freshman Enrichment: In addition to academic subjects, all participants attend a dedicated session with a school counselor focused on study skills, academic expectations, and a smooth transition to MHS.

  • Transportation: District busing is available for students who register by May 31, 2026.

  • Registration Deadline: Monday, June 22, 2026.

  • How to Register: Complete the registration form and return it to the MHS Main Office, mail it to the school (Attn: Ron Delude), or email the required information to ronald.delude@sau26.org.

High School Credit Recovery Program

This program allows current Merrimack High School students to make up missed credits (one semester per course) from the previous school year.

  • Program Dates: July 6 – August 13, 2026 (Monday – Thursday)

  • Session Times:

    • Session 1: 8:00 a.m. – 10:10 a.m.

    • Session 2: 10:20 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

  • Cost: $150.00 per course. Full payment is required prior to the first day of classes. Please make checks payable to: Merrimack School District.

  • Attendance Policy: All courses must be taken in person. Student engagement is essential, and excessive absences may result in the failure of the course.

  • Available Courses:

    • English: English 9, 10, 11, or 12 (Limit of one English course per summer).

    • Math: All math classes are available.

    • Social Studies: World Studies, US History, Civics, and Economics.

  • Transportation: District busing is not provided for the Credit Recovery program. Families must provide their own transportation.

  • Registration Deadline: Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

  • How to Register: Register in person at the MHS School Counseling Office or mail the application and payment to the school.
